Synology Drive Server is a comprehensive solution for file management, sharing, and synchronization. Once an administrator has enabled Synology Drive Server, users can use Synology Drive as a file portal and access it via web browsers, desktop applications, and mobile apps. Administrators can also configure sync tasks to other Synology NAS servers via Synology Drive ShareSync.

Synology allows DSM users to connect to their Synology NAS in the most intuitive, painless, and flexible way possible and protects their important data in a dedicated data center.

A Synology NAS is one of the most secure and cost-efficient ways to store data. Synologys suite of data management and backup applications gives you control and complete ownership over the way you manage data without incurring costly recurring fees.

AP-it has installed many Synology NAS drives over the years for all sizes of businesses and home clients.

Businesses use the Synology NAS drives for their main data storage which provides full user permissions and security using groups and network shares.  Synology provides a huge range of free APPS within the DSM operating system which enhances our clients experiences. These include Hyper Backup for backing up NAS's, either to local backup drives or to other Synology NAS's located in other locations using Synology's VPN Server.  To protect data on the NAS drive you can have Snapshot protection installed which protects data from any ransomware encyption attacks.  You can have staff dial into your business NAS via the Synology VPN Server service so you can access your files when working away from the office too.

If you have more than one office having a Synology NAS running in each location running the Synology Sync service you can store and sync all your data across all locations in realtime which makes life much easier for office staff accessing everything easily at all times.

Home users normally go for the smaller NAS size like a 2-Bay NAS for drive mirroring.  They use the drive for data storage and also enternatioment running services like Plex which is a media server where you can store, manage and watch your own collection of movies either at home or remotely when away from home.
