Stay Safe Online...
Dear Client, |
We wanted to take a moment to highlight the daily risks associated with cybercrime, hacking, and related online threats. These issues continue to grow in frequency and sophistication, affecting individuals and businesses alike. Staying informed and taking simple proactive steps can make a significant difference in prot ecting your accounts and personal information.
Create strong, unique passwords When setting or updating any password, always create a secure one that uses a random mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. Avoid using personal information, common words, or predictable patterns. The stronger and more random the password, the harder it is for attackers to compromise.
Enable two-factor authentication and passkeys Wherever possible, turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) for your accounts. This adds an extra layer of protection beyond just a password. Additionally, consider using passkeys where supported—these provide a more secure and convenient way to sign in and further strengthen account security.
Be extremely cautious with email links Always exercise great care when clicking links in any emails you receive. Many phishing attempts are designed to look genuine, often imitating trusted companies, banks, or services. If something feels even slightly off, do not click the link. Instead, go directly to the official website by typing the address yourself or using a trusted bookmark.
Recovery options and devices Over the years I've had clients needing to recover accounts, but when attempting to recover an account we find out that they haven't updated their recovery details for that service/ account. Please remember to update new mobile numbers and email addresses when discontinuing with old numbers/ emails, you need to have your latest details to be able to recover accounts to receive codes to prove you're the account owner.
Taking these steps consistently helps reduce your exposure to common cyber threats. If you have any questions about securing your accounts or would like further guidance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Stay safe online.
Best regards, Andrew Perry |
